Bert Lehman Obituary

Bert W. Lehman, 91 of Tionesta passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Titusville Hospital after a sudden illness.

 

Born on October 17, 1927 in West Middlesex, PA, he was the son of Lee A. and Elsie Mecklem Lehman.

 

On December 22, 1952 he was married to Mary Lee Zuendel Lehman at the Washington Methodist Church.

 

Bert was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City.

 

He was a well known contractor in the area until his retirement in 1997.

 

Bert was an antique automobiles collector, restorer and admirer.

 

He was a 50 year plus member of the Olive Temple #557 Masonic Lodge in Tionesta, and Lions Club of Tionesta, and also a former member of Forest County IDA and IDC. He was also an Honorary Member of the Forest County Historical Society.

 

Bert served honorably in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952.

 

He is survived by his wife and their children R. Lance Lehman and wife Susan of Tionesta and Rebecca (Becki) Weaver and husband Jody P. of Strobleton. Two granddaughters Laurie E. Weaver and friend Greg Garrison of Reston, VA and Lindsie J. Green and husband Evan of Parkville MD; also surviving are two great-grandsons Conner and Benett Green. A sister Evelyn Smith of Salem OH and also numerous nieces and nephews survive.

 

As per his request there will be no public visitation. The family is being cared for by Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Good Hope Lutheran Church, 800 Moran St. Oil City, PA 16301 with Pastors Sandra Jones and Michael Parish officiating.

 

Memorials in his name may be made to the Good Hope Lutheran Church, Forest County Historical Society or a charity of ones choice.
