Arthur Motter Obituary

Arthur L. Motter, 83, of Venus passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at his home after a brief battle with cancer.

 

Born on June 7, 1934 in Kossuth he was the son of Lloyd B. and Mildred L Wagner Motter.

 

Art was a graduate of Shippenville High School and also served eight years in the United States Navy.

 

He attended Pine City United Methodist Church.

 

After his time in the military Art started working for Penn Traffic. He then started his own business of Art Motter and Sons Electric and continued there until his retirement in 1997. When he was not working Art enjoyed fishing,wood working, making many trips to Canada,

 

He was a member of the Fryburg Sportsman's Club, Knox Rod and Gun, VFW of Oil City, and Knox Legion.

 

Art is survived by his companion Carol Browning Motter and his children Cathy Schill and her companion Doug of Red Brush, Dale Motter and his wife Kitty of Siegel, Charlie Motter and his wife Patti of Venus, Jodi Marshall and her husband Mike of Nectorine, Gary Motter and wife Julie of Tionesta, Karen O'Day and her husband Johnny of Knox, Matthew Motter and his wife Deanna Linn of Venus, Emily Lucanski and wife Carleen of Warren Ohio. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Siblings surviving include a sister Virginia Payne and David Motter and companion Juli Morrison.

 

He was preceded in death by siblings Lloyd Jr., Wayne, Elsie, and Gerald. He is also preceded in death by grandsons: Jeremy and Colby O'Day.

 

As per his wishes there will be no public visitation. Faller Funeral Home, Inc. will be caring for the family.
